HOW TO REMOVE THE VIDEO ON THE SMARTPHONE AND DO IT QUALITATIVELY?

Cameras on smartphones are getting better and better. They not only create better photos, but also record better video. Many of the latest generation of smartphones are equipped with image stabilization, focus tracking and the ability to shoot in 4K mode. And here are important tools and fixtures that you use.

The list of equipment for creating high-quality videos on a smartphone

Let’s take a look at what to invest in to take a video to a new level with your smartphone.

How to keep your phone safe

Smartphones today have a more rigid assembly, but they are still equipped with a sleek body, which makes them easy to drop. To avoid this, consider purchasing one of the protective accessories. And this, by the way, will help you make better and clearer videos.

Popsocket

This small device looks deceptively simple – a plastic stand that is attached to the back side of the phone with one side, and the other side comes out and supports it. Popsocket helps to hold the phone with one hand while taking a selfie or shooting at difficult angles. This accessory is especially useful when shooting video.

However, there are some problems. Firstly, popsocketts are cumbersome. Even in the retracted position, this device will still noticeably protrude, and there will be problems in order to put the phone into a pocket or insert it into the delivery under the phone in the car.

Secondly, the popsocket looks quite cheap, as it actually stands (although it is subjective). And it can spoil the aesthetics of an expensive smartphone.

Black Rapid is known for its camera mounts, but it also has a cool new product for smartphones called the WandeR Bundle. This is a nylon wrist strap that attaches to the cover of your smartphone (see photo). You can also use the TetheR-Clip attached to it to attach the phone to your bag or camera strap (as in the photo). So you definitely will not lose or drop your smartphone.

As for any camera, for a smartphone, a tripod is an indispensable thing in the process of shooting, and this is especially true for video shooting. In this case, you do not need a giant tripod, although you can, of course, adapt any basic tripod to your smartphone using the adapter.

But if you want to use a more compact device, it is better to choose a specialized tripod for your smartphone. Popular options here are the Manfrotto PIXI EVO and Fotokvant TM-07 tripod Gorillapod. Both of these devices are small but durable enough to hold a smartphone or even a small mirrorless camera if necessary.

Regardless of which tripod you are going to use, make sure you have an adapter to properly install the device on it.

External microphone

Most smartphones have pretty good built-in sound recording features. But sometimes you need a better audio solution in the form of an external microphone. Please note that the external microphones may require a smartphone audio adapter in case your phone does not have a standard audio connector.

One of the best microphones for smartphones is the Rode VideoMic Me microphone. It is very compact and comes with a fur windscreen (known as the dead cat). To use this microphone, simply plug it into the audio jack of your smartphone. But there are some design features. For example, it is convenient to use it for the Samsung Galaxy S8, but inconvenient for the Google Pixel smartphone. The reason is the location of the audio jack. On the S8, it is located at the bottom of the phone, at the opposite end of the camera. And at Pixel audio jack is located on top, next to the camera. In this case, the microphone enters the frame, both with wind protection and without it. Before buying such a microphone, check the proximity of the audio jack to the camera on your smartphone model.

Another type of microphone you might need is a lavalier microphone — a small microphone that attaches to a person’s clothing. It is located near the mouth to isolate the voice from environmental noise. Lavalier microphones are usually wired, i.e. They are difficult to use if they are connected directly to your video recorder. Thus, the most convenient option would be video recording using a separate camera and recording sound using a lavalier microphone connected to a smartphone. To do this, you need an application to record sound. Please note that the sound quality usually corresponds to the price of a microphone.
